A rooftop photovoltaic system is a system of solar panels installed on the roof of a building, commercial, industrial or residential. These solar PV systems are typically much smaller in capacity than terrestrial solar power plants. Rooftop systems on residential buildings typically range in capacity from 5-20KW, while systems on commercial buildings typically reach 100KW or larger.
